Déclaration d’amour de louis he à John  par Nicolas Barry

at 7:20 p.m. - 40 minutes - Low atrium

When I was young, I thought that the declarations of love in ballet repertory would affect me. In the great romances of Romeo and Juliette, Phedre, or Tristan and Isolde, the characters’ hegemonic heterosexual did not prevent me from self-identification. However, this poetic tradition excluded queers’ loves, though certain big admirers of the genre are from the LGBTQIA+ community, such as Proust for the “Berma” and Ludwig II of Bavaria for the Wagnerian romanticism. Louis He’s long romantic speech to Johan Ahoui adapts the excessiveness and abundance of lyricism to a new queer dramaturgy. In this work, I try to get myself into a tradition that used to keep me away. There is no tragedy, no death, no contradictory desire. It is nothing but a declaration of love, from one man to another.

haram, i want to turn into you par Reda El Toufaili

at 6:00 p.m. - 20 minutes - Low atrium

The arabic word haram, when used as an adjective, describes everything that is forbidden in Islam; when it is used as a common noun, Al-Haram means a sacred place. The performance haram, i want to turn into you describes the identity of the second generation of immigrants. The stage design is used to convey the notion of sacred and ritual taboo. The implicit message takes shape in what is visible/invisible, in the distances between languages, cultures, and practices of disinhibition. In an almost religious atmosphere – sort of a confessional - the scenes disclose intimate spaces demonstrating both ritual and taboo (haram) between the inside and the outside. As a queer individual, Reda questions here himself: is it possible to ritualize the “sin”? Is it possible to let go of fundamental beliefs? Is it possible to form new beliefs if we are born between two cultures?

Les Mirlitons par Mélina Ghorafi

at 6:30 p.m. - 30 minutes - Auditorium

Les Mirlitons is a sound installation firstly presented in the exhibition Lesbien•x•nes in B.R.A.V.E. (Brussels, Belgium), and the 100% exhibition at La Villette. Mélina Ghorafi rewrites and sings lesbian versions of bawdy songs from the traditional French repertory. To complete the songs, the installation includes matchboxes featuring pin-up illustrations taken from covers of American lesbian pulp novels. For Jerk Off, Ghorafi creates a performance inspired by this installation and will sing for the first time these songs on stage.

WOD par Lundy Grandpré

at 5:10 p.m. - 30 minutes - Auditorium

After a CrossFit session, you have muscles pumped, chest tight, and shoulders strong. The veins are still visible from the burpees, dips, and muscle-ups. You drink a protein shake with creatine and BCAA. By engaging your core, you greet the cashier you have met at Hot Yoga or on Grindr. In a competitive context of dance and CrossFit, a dancer practicing CrossFit and a dancer studying sociology together question the body normalization and the pressure to perform. We dive into a world of sculptured muscles and bodybuilding intensified by dumbbells and sweat. With dazzling effects and academic references, the pair illustrates a new shared narrative between dance and CrossFit connecting economy, gender, and social class issues. Grab your water bottle and tower as you discover THE sport of 21st century. Hold your breath as the WOD (workout of the day) will shake the normalization.

Séance de modèle vivant du Conte revenant par Balthazar Heisch

at 4:30 p.m. - 30 minutes - Low atrium

The Tale is a spirit frenziedly personifying the artist Balthazar Heisch, adding a touch of whimsy to his works. After three times of agony (La Mort Du Conte in 2016 at the ENSAD, 2017 in Artagon and in the Maison des Arts de Malakoff), the Tale was violently beaten (la realidad no basta in 2018, video by Alice Brygo), lived a festive cinematographic scene (Une jeunesse Dorée in 2018 by Eva Ionesco) before freeing a genius friend (le Bleausien in 2019). It learned swimming with a siren (sirénidés IV in 2021), wrote for the first time “in language”, and opened a procession (parade Flux in 2022 by Sylvie Ruaulx) before disappearing in the Parisian subway end of 2022. It comes back today for a live session, performed by the artist and his alter ego Octo.

JARDIN FUTUR / CLUB SABOTAGE par Ève Magot

at 8:10 p.m. - 40 minutes - Auditorium

JARDIN FUTUR / CLUB SABOTAGE reviews the mystic Genesis in which the creation of the world will no longer be limited by a beginning and an end. With my experience of trans woman rearranging the world every seven days, my version of Genesis will be a perpetual, collective and changing practice, a creation of the world into which to plunge our hands. JARDIN FUTUR / CLUB SABOTAGE is a solo that offers a catharsis as well as a celebration through pleasure, tenderness, and desire, the driving forces of life, revolutions, adventures and creations of the future for all of us. We will share love, tenderness, our fights, and our engagement to transform the violent and unjust realities.

Manucure Politique par Lyz Parayzo

at 4:00 p.m. - 3 hours - High atrium

Since 2016, Manucure Politique has been performed in different countries in Europe and Latin America. Combining installation, performance, and manicure services, this interactive and inclusive performance offers free manicure sessions to the audience, creating discussions about gender, violence, and gender performance. The protagonist is a transexual manicurist discussing transsexuality and questioning the gender standard. This approach highlights the importance of representativity and inclusion of marginal people in the artistic field.

Design: Lyz Parayzo

Hyper Ballad par Théo Pézeril

at 4:00 p.m. - 20 minutes - Auditorium

Hyper Ballad is a dynamic performance featuring singing, dancing and sensuality. It portrays a connection between a body and an imposing sculpture through their curves, illustrating caring and sensual gestures even in uncomfortable positions. This encounter takes the audience on an introspective journey, attempting to transcend the body’s reality through vibration, and it opens a gateway conceived as the sanctuary of a silent vulnerability.
