"The cry interests us for its absence, it is only beautiful insofar as it follows silence". Grand Crié, a queer, anti-virile and deeply pacifist piece, explores its interaction and specificities to inform and illuminate, in the present era, its original force which can sometimes escape those to whom they are addressed. Subversive, demanding, festive, aggressive or fearful, the cry is polyphonic. Nicolas Barry uses all sorts of cries and the cabaret’s popular lip synch to choreograph this poem between silent carnival and chaotic meditation.

Nicolas Barry is a playwright and choreographer born in 1989 in Lille. After studying literature and theater in Paris, he joined ENSATT in Lyon, in the playwriting department.
